My GBP is already set up. Why do I need optimization?
Having a claimed profile and having an optimized one are very different things. Most business owners fill out the basics — name, address, phone, category — and stop there. What Google actually uses to rank map pack listings includes category selection depth, keyword usage in descriptions and services, review velocity, photo count and recency, regular posting activity, and citation consistency across the web. Most profiles we audit are missing the majority of these.
How long does it take to see movement in the map pack?
It depends on your market and how competitive it is. In less competitive markets, a fully optimized profile can move into the map pack within 4–8 weeks. In highly competitive markets, it takes longer — but the gap between an optimized and unoptimized profile is measurable within the first 30–60 days in terms of profile views, clicks, and call volume.
Do reviews really affect my map pack ranking?
Yes — significantly. Review count, recency, and rating are all ranking factors in the map pack algorithm. A business with 12 reviews that stopped six months ago will rank worse than a competitor with 40 reviews and a steady stream of new ones coming in. We build a system that generates reviews consistently, not in bursts that look artificial to Google.
What are citations and why do they matter?
Citations are listings of your business name, address, and phone number on other websites — directories like Yelp, Angi, BBB, Apple Maps, and dozens of others. Google cross-references these to confirm your business information is accurate and consistent. When your name, address, or phone number appears differently across these sources, it creates a trust signal problem that suppresses your map pack visibility.
Can you help if my GBP listing has been suspended or has issues?
Yes. GBP suspensions, duplicate listings, and ownership issues are more common than most businesses realize — and they require specific steps to resolve that go beyond what a standard support request handles. We’ve worked through these situations before and know how to navigate the process.
Do I need to give you access to my Google account?
We’ll need manager access to your GBP — not full ownership of your Google account. We walk you through exactly how to add us during onboarding, and you retain full ownership of the listing throughout the engagement.
